Farmhouse Table Seating Guide

Farmhouse Dining Table Dimensional Guidelines

These are typical dimensions for our farmhouse dining tables and can vary slightly.  Farmhouse dining table design help is available at Cottage Home.

The distance between the legs of a farmhouse dining table = Table Length minus 15″ from the length and Table Width minus 10″ from the width. The bottom of the apron is normally 25″H from the floor.

The distance between the top of a work surface and a chair or stool seat is typically 12″. Chair and stool widths vary from 16″W to 25″W with an average of 20″W.  A minimum of 27″ to 30″ clearance from a wall and a minimum of 24″ additional floor coverage for a rug is required to pull out a side chair.

Seating arrangements labeled tight are for occasional use and typically involve some interference with the table legs. Remember, we can make ANY size table!

To our valued customers,

Given the current market uncertainty, we felt it would be a good idea to provide you an update on our products. As you may know, we are a small, family-owned business that has been offering custom made furniture from our 15 US based workshops for over 20 years. Each of our custom furniture collections is made at a different workshop. We are a small business that supports other small businesses.

Fortunately for us, our workshops have minimal exposure to import tariffs. Our wood species (both new and reclaimed), iron beds, upholstery frames, seat cushions and floor cloths are all sourced in the US, as are most finishes and fabrics. Selective hardware, fabrics, and finishing products are imported but are a small percentage of our overall cost. Our wicker furniture frames are imported but cushions are all sourced in the US.

We do not anticipate any significant price changes due to import tariffs. We look forward to continuing to create unique furniture designed by you and custom built for you.

Thank you,

Your Cottage Home Team
