Rooms To Love: Contemporary Farmhouse Dining

A formal and family-friendly dining room is well sought after and this modern farmhouse dining room is a perfect example of that blend! The traditional ladderback chairs, double pedestal table, and huntboard look like old farmhouse finds, but paired with slipcovered head chairs, a dainty crystal chandelier, and lively window treatments helps to reduce the appearance of a stuffy dining room. Layering fabrics and textures on the chairs creates a casual feel around the more formal table, and slipcovers allow for easy cleaning when the inevitable spills happen.

Rooms To Love: Rustic Coastal Cottage

This rustic coastal cottage packs a lot of personality for such a small space. The painted white high-paneled wainscoting and walls provide a clean palette to showcase the red, white, and blue motif. The reclaimed wood accent pieces, like the coffee table, the cricket end table, and the storage chest of drawers, bring in a little bit of country to this seaside cottage. Tasteful coral, seashell, and sea glass accessories sprinkle the walls and surfaces to quietly reference the home’s natural surroundings.

Rooms To Love: Colorful Cottage Bedroom

A bright and bold spin on traditional cottage styles breathes new life into this colorful cottage bedroom. The embellished turned detail and the over-sized carved curls on the bed are a modern twist on the traditional Chippendale style bed frame. The upholstered bench mimics the rounded curl from the bed with high rolled arms, and is in an adorable small scaled check print. Layering color and different fabric prints gives this bedroom a contemporary, yet quaint, cottage look and feel. This room encapsulates eclectic in an orderly fashion by keeping the clutter to a minimum, and the paintings on the wall sparse, allowing the color palette to really shine!

Rooms to Love: Mix & Match Living

Mixing and matching old wood accents with select newer pieces gives this living room an exciting blend of old & new. The fireplace is flanked by two different built-in cabinets; keeping them the same white seen on the fireplace creates a consistent flow across the far wall. The heightened mantelpiece and reclaimed wood feature create a central focal point and draws the eye directly to the fireplace. At night, we imagine the illuminating sconces and fire would create a wonderfully cozy place to sit and relax or watch a movie!

The backdrop of all white allows the pastel color palette to pop and draws your eye immediately to the arrangement of polka dots, florals, fabric collages, and painted furniture. The use of lateral and longitudinal boards on the walls, floors, and ceilings emphasize the structure to visually create a larger space. To our valued customers,

Given the current market uncertainty, we felt it would be a good idea to provide you an update on our products. As you may know, we are a small, family-owned business that has been offering custom made furniture from our 15 US based workshops for over 20 years. Each of our custom furniture collections is made at a different workshop. We are a small business that supports other small businesses.

Fortunately for us, our workshops have minimal exposure to import tariffs. Our wood species (both new and reclaimed), iron beds, upholstery frames, seat cushions and floor cloths are all sourced in the US. Selective hardware, shoreline fabrics, and finishing products are imported but are a small percentage of our overall cost. Our wicker furniture frames are imported but cushions are all sourced in the US.

Currently, we have two collections affected by tariffs:

Cottage Wicker Furniture Collection: 6% Tariff
Shoreline Slipcovered Furniture Collection: 3% Tariff

We do not anticipate any significant price changes due to import tariffs. We look forward to continuing to create unique furniture designed by you and custom built for you.

Thank you,

Your Cottage Home Team
