Design Tip: Kid’s Rooms

Designing a children’s room is both a joy and a challenge. The room must be practical and functional, yet be vibrant and aesthetically pleasing. It is too easy to get trapped into the practical aspect and forget to have fun with color, furniture, and accessories.
Pick a fun color scheme and choose to accent a wall or piece of furniture with a bright color. Pick durable furniture pieces and flooring and, always, allow for extra storage. Dress up the room with sophisticated furniture and lighting. But most importantly, make it personal with displays, pictures, etc. Make the room a space a child can enjoy in the present and easily transform in the future.
