As fresh and vibrant as a summer garden, this colorful cottage living room is a kaleidoscope of color and irresistible personality.  The cathedral ceiling, with the exposed timber frame, is an amazing architectural detail that contributes to the overall cottage appeal, while the bright furnishings provide a modern twist.  The bold floral drapes, set at ceiling height, emphasize the playful nature of the homeowners, and draw the eye directly to the gorgeous wrap-around windows.

The choice of using a neutral sisal rug in this space is the perfect example of creating balance when designing with an energetic color palette.  It offers a quiet foundation that allows you to build layers and layers of color. Small decorative details, like the contrast piping on the sofas, and the powder blue border along the drapes, makes this space a celebration of color and whimsy.
