Rooms to Love: Something Blue

Rooms to Love: Something Blue #blues #aqua #rustichic #salvaged https://www.cottagehomefurniture.com/

As another season of weddings steals upon us, it’s comforting to have a place to curl up and browse bridal magazines – or to simply escape from the stress. Either way, this cottage living room has all the necessary elements for success, as in the traditional bridal saying: “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”. Just like a carefully selected bridal trousseau, this sitting area is made up of weathered pieces and hand-me-down heirlooms standing alongside modern textiles.

Achieving a relaxed charm is as easy as mixing slightly different favorites, like a slipcovered sofa with a slightly more formal exposed leg chair. The pairing of a round and square table is nicely echoed in the large round clock and the rectangular shutter wall art. Crisp whites and neutral naturals play with bright accent colors like citrus green and turquoise hues. The antique open front hutch – a real rustic show-stopper – gets a new lease on life with an aqua painted interior. Blending old and new, whether salvaged or newly-found, creates a unique, stay-awhile feel.

To our valued customers,

Given the current market uncertainty, we felt it would be a good idea to provide you an update on our products. As you may know, we are a small, family-owned business that has been offering custom made furniture from our 15 US based workshops for over 20 years. Each of our custom furniture collections is made at a different workshop. We are a small business that supports other small businesses.

Fortunately for us, our workshops have minimal exposure to import tariffs. Our wood species (both new and reclaimed), iron beds, upholstery frames, seat cushions and floor cloths are all sourced in the US, as are most finishes and fabrics. Selective hardware, fabrics, and finishing products are imported but are a small percentage of our overall cost. Our wicker furniture frames are imported but cushions are all sourced in the US.

We do not anticipate any significant price changes due to import tariffs. We look forward to continuing to create unique furniture designed by you and custom built for you.

Thank you,

Your Cottage Home Team
