Rooms to Love: Urban Cottage Dining Room

Rooms to Love: Urban Cottage Dining Room #cottagediningroom #pastels #whites #built-ins www.cottagehomefurniture.com

Life in an apartment or an urban space can still hold the charm of the country when cottage style elements are given free rein. White painted barnboard walls and unfinished wood floors provide a clean backdrop for this light and bright urban cottage style dining room. Recessed nooks in whitewashed brick outfitted with rustic wooden shelves create an informal area for storing dishes, herbs and pottery. Displaying everyday staples such as crusty bread, terra cotta vessels and bottles of wine as part of the overall decor taps into a comfortingly familiar utilitarian beauty.

Familiar anchors of classic cottage style such as a reclaimed barnwood table and a painted sideboard pair with cafe chairs in untraditional springtime hues to individualize this cheery dining room. Dropped down on a lengthy chain, a pendant light hovers just above the wood dining table to create an cozy space despite the soaring ceiling. A half wall with pass-through shelves creates a continuity with the neighboring room while still preserving an intimate cottage floor plan.

To our valued customers,

Given the current market uncertainty, we felt it would be a good idea to provide you an update on our products. As you may know, we are a small, family-owned business that has been offering custom made furniture from our 15 US based workshops for over 20 years. Each of our custom furniture collections is made at a different workshop. We are a small business that supports other small businesses.

Fortunately for us, our workshops have minimal exposure to import tariffs. Our wood species (both new and reclaimed), iron beds, upholstery frames, seat cushions and floor cloths are all sourced in the US, as are most finishes and fabrics. Selective hardware, fabrics, and finishing products are imported but are a small percentage of our overall cost. Our wicker furniture frames are imported but cushions are all sourced in the US.

We do not anticipate any significant price changes due to import tariffs. We look forward to continuing to create unique furniture designed by you and custom built for you.

Thank you,

Your Cottage Home Team
