Dining Rooms & Kitchens

When decorating dining rooms, remember that dining rooms tend to be for more formal meals, while the kitchen table is not only where you and your family break your daily fast, it usually functions as a project center, homework supporter, and is generally the most utilized surface in your home.  Whatever the style you want to achieve in your kitchen, the kitchen table needs to be able to stand up to wear and tear!

Depending on how you want to use your dining room, keep in mind you and your guests will probably linger over meals in this room.  Are your chairs comfortable?  Do you have adequate seating?  Is there a cabinet to hold your china & glassware?  Can the lighting be dimmed?  This is your chance to create a true dining experience.

  1. I love this room, it is similar to what I would like to do. I lost all but the frame of my home to Sandy. I had bought the home, 4years ago and totally redid the inside. It embraced me when I came home. My furniture was mostly Ethan Allan. Some old custom made burner block stuff. I hope I can restore those!?!

    1. Mary, we are so sorry to hear of your loss. We would love to help you out in the future with refurnishing your new home.

To our valued customers,

Given the current market uncertainty, we felt it would be a good idea to provide you an update on our products. As you may know, we are a small, family-owned business that has been offering custom made furniture from our 15 US based workshops for over 20 years. Each of our custom furniture collections is made at a different workshop. We are a small business that supports other small businesses.

Fortunately for us, our workshops have minimal exposure to import tariffs. Our wood species (both new and reclaimed), iron beds, upholstery frames, seat cushions and floor cloths are all sourced in the US. Selective hardware, shoreline fabrics, and finishing products are imported but are a small percentage of our overall cost. Our wicker furniture frames are imported but cushions are all sourced in the US.

Currently, we have two collections affected by tariffs:

Cottage Wicker Furniture Collection: 6% Tariff
Shoreline Slipcovered Furniture Collection: 3% Tariff

We do not anticipate any significant price changes due to import tariffs. We look forward to continuing to create unique furniture designed by you and custom built for you.

Thank you,

Your Cottage Home Team
