Inspiration Board: Americana Country Kitchen

Inspiration Board: American Country Kitchen

The basic tenants of the Americana kitchen style revolve around the color choices you make.  What colors say “Americana”?  Red, white, and blue, of course!  When deciding on your color scheme, you can choose to go for brighter reds, whites, and blues, like the colors on the modern USA flag, or you can go for richer, deeper colors more associated with Colonial America (this second approach is the most traditional approach to Americana design).  The Colonial style colors are rusty reds, dark blue-grays (a la Williamsburg Blue), and beige/off white tones.

To our valued customers,

Given the current market uncertainty, we felt it would be a good idea to provide you an update on our products. As you may know, we are a small, family-owned business that has been offering custom made furniture from our 15 US based workshops for over 20 years. Each of our custom furniture collections is made at a different workshop. We are a small business that supports other small businesses.

Fortunately for us, our workshops have minimal exposure to import tariffs. Our wood species (both new and reclaimed), iron beds, upholstery frames, seat cushions and floor cloths are all sourced in the US. Selective hardware, shoreline fabrics, and finishing products are imported but are a small percentage of our overall cost. Our wicker furniture frames are imported but cushions are all sourced in the US.

Currently, we have two collections affected by tariffs:

Cottage Wicker Furniture Collection: 6% Tariff
Shoreline Slipcovered Furniture Collection: 3% Tariff

We do not anticipate any significant price changes due to import tariffs. We look forward to continuing to create unique furniture designed by you and custom built for you.

Thank you,

Your Cottage Home Team
