Today’s Rooms to Love is from the blog Our Vintage Home and showcases her charming farmhouse style kitchen.  We love Diana’s home and all of the creative ideas she has to infuse vintage style into everyday living.  There are so many simple details to this kitchen that come together for a definitive look.  Choosing the french linen paint for the lower cabinets warms up the entire look and makes the glossy counter tops pop!  A really creative idea to give the space a unique feel was to use this long table with turned legs and a rustic distressed finish as the central island.  Finishing details like the floating shelves, vintage porcelain dishes and cast iron pans hanging from the pot rack really give the kitchen that farmhouse charm.

What is your favorite vintage detail?

  1. I really love the look of this kitchen. Two things really stand out to me. The table is like an additional counter and I really like that. The second is the shelves. I really like the shelves. Thanks for sharing.

To our valued customers,

Given the current market uncertainty, we felt it would be a good idea to provide you an update on our products. As you may know, we are a small, family-owned business that has been offering custom made furniture from our 15 US based workshops for over 20 years. Each of our custom furniture collections is made at a different workshop. We are a small business that supports other small businesses.

Fortunately for us, our workshops have minimal exposure to import tariffs. Our wood species (both new and reclaimed), iron beds, upholstery frames, seat cushions and floor cloths are all sourced in the US, as are most finishes and fabrics. Selective hardware, fabrics, and finishing products are imported but are a small percentage of our overall cost. Our wicker furniture frames are imported but cushions are all sourced in the US.

We do not anticipate any significant price changes due to import tariffs. We look forward to continuing to create unique furniture designed by you and custom built for you.

Thank you,

Your Cottage Home Team
