Rooms to Love: Neat Neutrality #neutrals #naturals www.cottagehomefurniture.com

A coastal cottage living room turned out in soothing neutral tones like the one above provides a welcome everyday retreat.  An understated sand color on the walls sets the overall tone and is echoed in the natural area rug, throw pillows and fireplace tiles. White painted moldings provide a subtle contrast. A comfortable mood deepens with graduated tones from cafe au lait pillows, mink brown cushions, and rustic dark wood pieces such as the driftwood mirror and table. The added beauty of this room is that its low-profile disposition serves as the perfect foundation for changing seasonal decor.

A neutral base can easily be dressed up and down for any occasion, especially at the holidays. Just as natural elements like smooth stones on the hearth and seagrass upon the mantel add a coastal twist to this comfy cottage style, this room could easily be readied for Thanksgiving guests with some gourds and corncobs and substituting an orange or harvest gold area rug. Adding deep red velvet pillows and some berries and evergreen boughs on the mantel would in turn set the scene for festive winter meetings. And when spring returns, adding pussy willows, striped pillows in chambray blue and a white painted table in lieu of the driftwood one can freshen the look.

To our valued customers,

Given the current market uncertainty, we felt it would be a good idea to provide you an update on our products. As you may know, we are a small, family-owned business that has been offering custom made furniture from our 15 US based workshops for over 20 years. Each of our custom furniture collections is made at a different workshop. We are a small business that supports other small businesses.

Fortunately for us, our workshops have minimal exposure to import tariffs. Our wood species (both new and reclaimed), iron beds, upholstery frames, seat cushions and floor cloths are all sourced in the US. Selective hardware, shoreline fabrics, and finishing products are imported but are a small percentage of our overall cost. Our wicker furniture frames are imported but cushions are all sourced in the US.

Currently, we have two collections affected by tariffs:

Cottage Wicker Furniture Collection: 6% Tariff
Shoreline Slipcovered Furniture Collection: 3% Tariff

We do not anticipate any significant price changes due to import tariffs. We look forward to continuing to create unique furniture designed by you and custom built for you.

Thank you,

Your Cottage Home Team
