Rooms to Love: Reinventing History
Image: Country Living
This farmhouse style living room comes from a recent article in Country Living about a nearly 100 year old dance hall that has been converted into a stylish home. Keeping the open concept floor plan and entertainment friendly atmosphere was an important design concept that the Johnston family executed flawlessly.
The living room is a great example of a relaxed, inviting, and family-friendly space with a nod to traditional living. The expansive Persian rug is a beautiful focal point and creates a vibrant mood to this otherwise neutral palette. The walls are painted in Sherwin Williams Alabaster, which is an ideal tone of white to display the original artworks that adorn the walls. Choosing deep sofa and chair frames not only makes for comfortable lounging, but also fills this large scale space to make a more welcoming environment.
