As colder weather nears, we couldn’t decide whether we were more drawn to the idea of the comforts of indoors outside or the hallmarks of outdoors inside, so we married the two scenarios in our Rooms to Love. Equally appealing to the homebody in us all, the fireplaced farmhouse living room and lodge porch above both offer rusticity as well as small touches of welcome luxury. #cottagelivingroom #neutrals #rustic #lodgeporch https://www.cottagehomefurniture.com

Ushered into a century-old farmhouse living room boasting richly stained original built-ins and a quaint whitewashed brick fireplace, you’re given the seat of honor next to the fire – an antique armchair with plush persimmon upholstery. A beadboard-backed bookcase and granite hearth reinforce a unique nostalgia, and timelessness supersedes the fad of the moment to make a comfortably classic sitting area. #blues #reds #natural wood #fireplace https://www.cottagehomefurniture.com

This inspiration room comes from a recent article in Country Living about a nearly 100 year old dance hall that has been converted into a stylish home. Keeping the open concept floor plan and entertainment friendly atmosphere was an important design concept that the Johnston family executed flawlessly.

When decorating a living room consider first, how often do you use your living room? Is it reserved for company or does it get everyday use? If you do a lot of formal entertaining, you’ll approach the design of your living room differently than if it is the center of your family life.
Given the current market uncertainty, we felt it would be a good idea to provide you an update on our products. As you may know, we are a small, family-owned business that has been offering custom made furniture from our 15 US based workshops for over 20 years. Each of our custom furniture collections is made at a different workshop. We are a small business that supports other small businesses.
Fortunately for us, our workshops have minimal exposure to import tariffs. Our wood species (both new and reclaimed), iron beds, upholstery frames, seat cushions and floor cloths are all sourced in the US. Selective hardware, shoreline fabrics, and finishing products are imported but are a small percentage of our overall cost. Our wicker furniture frames are imported but cushions are all sourced in the US.
Currently, we have two collections affected by tariffs:
Cottage Wicker Furniture Collection: 6% Tariff
Shoreline Slipcovered Furniture Collection: 3% Tariff
We do not anticipate any significant price changes due to import tariffs. We look forward to continuing to create unique furniture designed by you and custom built for you.
